The AUS vs WI third T20I will be played in Perth on February 13, Tuesday. The match also concludes the three-match series that has already won by Australia. They are now eyeing for a clean sweep.

Australia scored 241/4 on the back of Glenn Maxwell’s fifth T20I ton. He scored 120* off 55 balls with 12 fours and eight sixes in his knock. David Warner (22), Mitchell Marsh (29), and Marcus Stoinis (16 off 15) played their part in the game. Five of the seven Windies bowlers had an economy rate over 10 due to Maxwell’s big-hitting innings. 

West Indies in the chase reached as far as 107/9 in their 20 overs. Rovman Powell top-scored with 63, Andre Russell (37) and Jason Holder 928) tried their best in the lower order but could not get over the line. The top three did not do much of the scoring and thus the pressure came on the lower order. 

Australia will be led by Mitchell Marsh who is stepping in as the captain with Pat Cummins rested. Mitchell Starc is also rested from the T20I series. Meanwhile, Nathan Ellis is ruled out with a rib injury with Spencer Johnson named as his replacement.

The side sees the return of the likes of David Warner, Marcus Stoinis, and Travis Head who were not a part of the ODI side. Josh Hazlewood also returns to the squad for the T20I series after being rested from the third ODI.

West Indies also sees the return of the likes of Nicholas Pooran, Andre Russell, and Jason Holder who were playing in the ILT20. Rovman Powell will lead the side. Akeal Hosein too was playing in the ILT20. Shai Hope and Roston Chase who played in the ODI series are also a part of the T20I side. Alzarri Joseph leads the pace attack.

 The two teams have played 146 ODIs with the Aussies winning 79 matches and West Indies 61. In 21 T20Is, Australia have won 11 games while West Indies 10. The series starts the preparations for the T20 World Cup for both teams. The Windies have won the T20 World Cup twice (2012, and 2016) and the Aussies once (2021).

After losing the ODI series, West Indies are closing in on losing the T20I series as well. Australia are ranked fourth in the ICC T20I rankings while West Indies. The conditions in Perth will dictate terms in the third T20I.
