Sri Lanka have taken complete control over the game as they batted and bowled magnificently well in the game. But Bangladesh made sure that they fought well with the ball in the second innings and kept everyone entertained.

While the competition between bat and ball was high, there was also a hilarious moment in the game that left many in splits. The half of the Bangladesh National Cricket Team was running after the ball to stop the boundary during the fag end of the Day 3 of the second Test.

During the second ball of the 21st over, Hasan Mahmud bowled a back-of-a-length delivery outside off to Prabath Jayasuriya. The batter stood tall and tucked the ball away past the gully. But what caught the attention of many was the fielding effort of the Bangladesh National Cricket Team.

As many as 5 players from Bangladesh ran after the ball to stop the boundary. In the end, it was a man at the point, who stopped the ball. The video of the incident went viral on the internet and it left many in splits.

Coming to the game on Day 3, Bangladesh didn’t have a great outing with the bat. Continuing with the overnight score of 55/1, they were off to a decent start with the bat as Zakir Hasan slammed a vital half-century but apart from him, no other batter could turn up.

Taijul Islam (22) and Mominul Haque (33) made valiant contributions with the bat. But it wasn’t enough as Sri Lanka bowlers were all over them. Asitha Fernando was the pick of the bowlers. He picked four wickets whereas Vishwa Fernando, Lahiru Kumara, and Prabath Jayasuriya also chipped in. They all picked one wicket each as Bangladesh got all out for 178 runs.

Bangladesh take six Sri Lankan wickets in the second innings

Bangladesh National Cricket Team came up with a brilliant performance with the ball in the second innings. Even though Sri Lanka had a lead of over 350 runs, the bowlers made sure that they gave their best and took up wickets as early as possible.

Hasan Mahmud was the wrecker-in-chief behind the carnage. He bowled impeccable lines and lengths and troubled the Sri Lanka batters. The pacer picked 4 wickets on Day 3 and made sure that he helped Bangladesh end the Day on high in the ongoing second game.

Apart from him, Khaled Ahmed also chipped in and picked two wickets. At stumps on Day 3, Sri Lanka were 102/6 with Angelo Mathews batting at 39. Bangladesh are 455 runs behind and would be hoping to take the remaining four wickets as quickly as possible on Day 4. The hosts have already lost the first game and would be desperate for a win in the ongoing game.
