England and Bangladesh kicked off their next matches of the ongoing World Cup at the scenic HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala. The match concluded with last time World Cup champions England emerging victorious by a massive margin of 137 runs leaving the opponent side in daze. Despite Bangladesh winning the toss and choosing to bowl, the England team left the tigers stunned by chasing 364 for 9.

During the first innings, it was England’s left-handed batsman who single handedly hunted 140 runs off 107 balls for the team scoring a century and pacer Reece Topley dismantling the batting line up scoring 4 scalps. Reece Topley outdid the Bengal tigers by taking down the wicket of in-form Shakib Al Hasan. Here’s how the star bowler did it.

The lucky over for England

It was in the sixth over when Reece toppled down Shakib during the second innings of the match. Already at two wickets down, Shakib’s wicket came as a surprise on Bangladesh’s part as the left-arm pacer Reece Topley’s magical delivery went up straight to hit the top of the off-stump. Initially, it seemed impossible to play the ball, causing the ball to crash straight on the stumps. Along with Hasan, Reece also took down Tanzid Hasan and Nahmul Hasan Shanto for 1 and 0. Despite losing the match, the defending champions showed up with confidence and chased 227 runs.

Bangladesh’s play

Most of the Bangladeshi players scored double digits to take on the target but unfortunately failed mainly because of the mystical spell Reece Topley unleashed. Bangladesh’s bowler Mahedi Hasan went all powerful for his team’s side as he too toppled down the England cricketers by a 4-wicket haul.

England will be locking horns against Afghanistan on October 15 while Bangladesh will play its next against New Zealand on October 11.
