The much anticipated high octane clash between arch rivals India and Pakistan is all set to commence tomorrow at world’s largest stadium, the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Ahead of the big clash, Indian sensational batter Shubman Gill has been recovering steadily for Dengue. However, mixed stances have been opined by several people on Shubman’s participation in the match against Pakistan.

Recently, Shubman Gill had been hospitalised in a hospital in Chennai as the 24-year old batter’s platelet count dropped but luckily he got discharged in a day and travelled to Ahmedabad the very next day. He had been kept under the observation of BCCI‘s medical panel for recovering steady and fast.

Words of Optimism

Till Tuesday, there was little hope that Shubman would play in the match on October 14, but now it seems that the tables have turned following an escalation in Shubman’s better health. Former Chief Selector of the Indian Cricket team MSK Prasad in an interview said “I think we can put an end to all kinds of speculations. Shubman Gill will definitely play this game (vs Pakistan). He is too good a player to miss out. He had just a fever. He has recovered. It was not threatening at all that we would even think about replacements. It’s all rumours that are coming out in whatever form that you are hearing.” Prasad’s optimistic thoughts have put the Indian fans on their way to believe that Shubman will certainly take on the big match and has acquired all the hopes on team India.

Already at practice

After his arrival in Ahmedabad, Shubman had been put to rest after which he took up to the nets for effective practice ahead of the big match. He was seen accompanied by Team India’s physiotherapist and throwdown specialist. Gill nearly batted for an hour facing local net bowlers and also honed his fielding skills. He will go further for a second practice session on Friday evening too, this time with his fellow teammates. Earlier, Gill managed to travel to Chennai but couldn’t make it to Delhi. If he plays well in the practice session today without any sense of discomfort looking large on his face, Gill’s participation in the match against Pakistan is confirmed.
