The whole cricket world is ready to witness the big ticket clash between India and Pakistan, in what can turn out as a super thriller at world’s largest stadium, the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Arch-rivals India and Pakistan will take on each other on October 14. Everyone from sports officials to former cricketers to fans have been stating their predictions on the big match about who will emerge victorious.

The interesting fact is both the teams have registered back to back wins against other counter teams with India securing victory over Australia and Afghanistan and Pakistan showcasing its dominance against Netherlands and Sri Lanka. Now, the two teams are ready to lock horns against each other for their 3rd match in the 2023 World Cup.

He will win this battle: Harbhajan Singh

Opening up on his predictions, former Indian bowler Harbhajan Singh contradicted that the potential battle will be won by team India. He pulled attention on Virat Kohli’s impressive form and said he is likely to dominate the other side, that of pace bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi.

With this, Harbhajan stated “It is a good battle but I feel the sort of form Virat is in, he will win the battle. Shaheen pitches the ball extremely full and tries to get batters out lbw or bowled with the new ball.”

Looking at Shaheen’s weaknesses

Appreciating the efforts put up by the Pakistani team, Harbhajan claimed that Afridi is a good bowler but luckily he doesn’t possess the expertise as that of former Pakistani bowler, Wasim Akram. “He has not left such a big impression in the last five or seven matches, if you include the Asia Cup and World Cup. He needs the conditions, if the conditions are good he becomes an excellent bowler but if the conditions are not in his favour, he is just a decent bowler”, said Harbhajan on Afridi’s bowling delivery.
