Leading up to the highly anticipated match against Team India, Pakistan fast-bowler Hasan Ali has stated that the pressure will be on the hosts, not his team. The high-voltage India vs Pakistan clash in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023 is scheduled to take place on Saturday (October 14) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Both teams have made a strong start to their campaign, winning both of their first two games. While Pakistan beat the Netherlands and Sri Lanka, India got the better of Australia and Afghanistan. With both the teams in form, one can expect a thrilling clash in Ahmedabad.

And ahead of the huge clash between the two teams, Hasan Ali has hailed India vs Pakistan as the best rivalry in the world. Speaking in a video posted by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on their social media accounts, Hasan expressed his excitement about the game.

“This is the best sporting rivalry in the world. Many players have already spoken about how everyone around the globe tunes into this match. The team is excited for this game, and so am I to play at a venue hosting fans in excess of 100,000. We are looking forward to the game,” said the pacer.

Pressure on India: Hasan Ali

Speaking further, Hasan Ali said that playing at home will put more pressure on Team India. India have never lost a game against Pakistan in the ODI World Cup to date. The Men in Blue have a 7-0 record against the Men in Green in the marquee event and will be desperate to extend that record. Hasan Ali, however, is confident that Pakistan can beat India and end the jinx.

“Records are meant to be broken and we too are looking forward to breaking this jinx of not having beaten India in a 50-over World Cup. It is India who will be under pressure as it is their home ground with fans turning up to support them. There is always pressure in a big game like this but we will try to gain momentum early in the proceedings and win the contest,” Ali said.
