Indian batsman KL Rahul batsman is all set to return to the cricket field after missing out on the second Test match against England. Rahul had issues with his back due to which he didn’t play in Vizag against the Three Lions. Rahul performed well during the first match of the series in Hyderabad, scoring 86 runs in the first innings and helping India put up a decent score on the board.

After being included in the squad for the last three Tests against KL Rahul has also begun training in the nets. KL Rahul uploaded the video of his net session on his Instagram story and has stated to his fans that he is ready to come back to the side.

The last few months have been very challenging for KL Rahul. From being excluded from the team to injuries, Rahul has dealt with almost every problem. During the same time last year, KL Rahul had lost his touch with the bat in the red-ball format and was unable to score runs. Due to the same reason, he was dropped from the red ball side. However, Rahul kept on scoring runs in white-ball cricket.

During the Indian Premier League 2023, while fielding on the boundary KL Rahul injured his thigh due to which he had to undergo surgery in London. Rahul was out of international cricket for almost 4 months and was picked up in the team for the Asia Cup 2023. Rahul missed the first few games due to a niggle in his thigh, however, the right-handed Karnataka batter finally returned to the field against Pakistan during the Super 4 stage of the tournament.

KL Rahul slammed a ton in his first match after returning from his injury and since then has not looked back in international cricket. Rahul also began to keep wickets for the team and took some brilliant catches behind the stumps. Rahul’s decent performance continued during the ODI World Cup 2023 wherein he played a match-winning knock against Australia in India’s opening match of the competition.

Based up on his white-ball performance, KL Rahul grabbed a place in the red-ball team and once again hit a century in his comeback Test match against South Africa in December last year. Rahul was also India’s first-choice wicketkeeper in the Test series against South Africa. However, against England, KS Bharat has been handed the keeping responsibilities.

The third Test match of the series is all set to start on February 15 at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot. The Indian team shall bring in KL Rahul in place of Shreyas Iyer, however, he is still subjected to fitness. Ravindra Jadeja is also another such player who was India’s top performer in the first Test against England but was ruled out of the second game due to a hamstring injury. The Indian management would want Jadeja also to return for the third Test match.
