India ended their World Cup 2023 campaign by being runners-up. After remaining unbeaten before the final match, they lost the match to Australia by 6 wickets. Their effort fell short on the big day. Australia became the world champion for the sixth time. They played exceptional cricket in the match. India faced a heartbreaking defeat in the last moment. After the defeat, the athlete Neeraj Chopra expressed his feelings on social media.

Rohit Sharma and Co. got heartbroken in the last match. In the whole tournament, they set an example of cricket excellence. They won all the matches in the group stage and even the semifinal match against New Zealand. They qualified in the final being unbeaten. Everyone was hopeful about India’s win. Every player on the team was in great form. But their effort was not at the peak in the final clash against Australia. 

A number of celebrities were there in the stadium to cheer Team India. Javelin star Neeraj Chopra was also presented at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. After India’s tragic defeat, Neeraj Chopra encouraged the team. On his social media handle, he wrote, “ Team India, you made us proud. Hard luck in the final. It wasn’t our night, but a tournament that we’ll never forget.”

India’s Exceptional Journey and the Last Heartbreak:

After a long time, India arranged the World Cup campaign on home soil. Fans were in cricket fever. India gave a dazzling start to the tournament by defeating Australia in the tournament. After that, they kept winning consecutive matches. They defeated Sri Lanka by 302 runs and hammered South Africa with a massive 243-run win. They won all 10 matches, they played before the final clash.

In the past one and a half months, Team India created so many fond memories. Fans witnessed some exceptional performances by the team.  Virat Kohli had one of the best World Cup seasons. He completed 765 runs. He scored 3 centuries and 6 half-centuries throughout the tournament. Rohit Sharma led the team from the front. Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, and Shubman Gill were excellent throughout the tournament. Bowlers like Shami, Bumrah, Siraj, Jadeja, and Kuldeep were just unstoppable.

In the last match, luck didn’t go with Team India. While batting first, India couldn’t dominate the Aussie bowlers. Rohit, Kohli, and KL Rahul played responsible knocks but other batters struggled in front of the Aussie bowling lineup. Even in the bowling, India struggled against the Australian batters. Except for Bumrah, Shami, and Siraj, no other bowler got a wicket. The Aussie batters took the match away and became the world champion for the sixth time.
