Nicholas Pooran, on Tuesday (April 2), continued his fine start in IPL 2024 and played another crucial knock for Lucknow Super Giants in their ongoing game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

He started his campaign in IPL 2024 with an unbeaten knock of 64 against Rajasthan Royals. However, the effort went in vain as LSG lost the game by 20 runs. In the second game, he scored 42 as LSG beat Punjab Kings to open their account in IPL 2024.

Continuing his impressive run, the left-handed batsman played a fine knock of 40 not out to help his side post an 180-plus total against RCB. LSG were reeling on 148 for 5 at the end of the 18th over and the 180-run mark was looking unlikely. However, Nicholas Pooran hit five sixes in the last two overs to guide his team to a big total. In the 19th over, he hit three sixes against Reece Topley before hitting Mohammed Siraj for two more in the final over.

And one of those sixes was a monstrous 106-meter hit. It was the third six of the 19th over against Topley. The West Indies star deposited the ball on the roof of the stadium with his huge hit. It was a short and slower delivery outside the off stump from the England star and Nicholas Pooran showed absolutely no mercy. He waited on the back foot before hammering his shot over deep mid-wicket.

The six also saw him equal  Kolkata Knight Riders batsman Venkatesh Iyer at the top of the standings for the longest sixers in IPL 2024. Incidentally, Iyer had also hit the 106-metre against RCB at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Watch Nicholas Pooran’s huge six:

Thanks to his knock, LSG finished their innings on 181 for 5 in the allotted 20 overs. Pooran scored 40 off 21 balls with the help of one four and five sixes.
