Sri Lanka batsman Kusal Mendis smacked a fabulous century against Pakistan in ICC World Cup 2023. Wicketkeeper Kusal Mendis arrived at one-down and scored a century off just 66 balls to send the fans on X (formerly Twitter) on fire.

During his knock, Kusal Mendis slammed 4 sixes and 14 fours to register a strike rate of over 150+. Sri Lanka also reached 200-plus runs on the scoreboard before the 28th over of the match.

Kusal Mendis scored the fastest century by a Sri Lanka player in ODI World Cup. This is Mendisโ€™ 3rd ODI century. He ultimately got out for 122 runs in the match. X users hailed him for his incredible knock. Have a look at some of the tweets.

Mendis also played a brilliant knock of 76 runs in the previous match against South Africa, which Sri Lanka lost by 102 runs. Hence, he has continued with amazing knocks in the first two consecutive games of ICC World Cup 2023.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bat first in PAK vs SL match. They lost opener Kusal Perera for a duck in the 2nd over. However, Mendis and Pathum Nissanka gave an outstanding start to the team. Nissanka scored a half-century, getting out for 51 runs.
