Indian keeper-batter Ishan Kishan penned down a heartfelt message after Team India suffered a disappointing loss in the final of the ICC World Cup 2023. He said that it was a special time for him to be with the team in the last month as they created a lot of memories.

India was one of the most dominating teams in the ICC World Cup 2023. They played like champions throughout the whole tournament but succumbed to pressure in the final. The Men in Blue faced a thrashing 7-wicket loss against Australia in Ahmedabad and it broke almost a billion hearts.

Almost every player played a part in the tournament and chipped in at crucial junctures. Ishan Kishan played the first two games for the team and made decent contributions. Apart from him, there were some magnificent performances but it wasn’t meant to be as they failed when it mattered most.

In the big final, India was bundled out for just 240 runs as they struggled to get going and lost wickets at regular intervals. They failed to score runs quickly as the wicket also didn’t favour them and on top of that Australia bowled magnificently as well.

With the ball, India started well as they left Australia tottering at 47/3 but after that, they couldn’t pick wickets as the opposition chased the target with 6 wickets in hand. Travis Head (132) slammed a brutal century whereas Marnus Labuschagne (58*) played decent knock as well.

Ishan Kishan said that the memories they created and the emotions they went through will be with them forever. He also thanked fans for supporting them. Taking to his Twitter account, he explained:

“This past month or so with this team has been special. The memories created and emotions we have felt will stay with us forever. We can’t thank you enough for your undying love and support. The way the fans and country have united behind us has been surreal.”

This isn’t the end, it’s not over until we win – Shubman Gill

Not only Ishan Kishan, Shubman Gill also wrote a heartfelt message after the loss in the final of the ICC World Cup 2023. He reflected on the team’s campaign and said that things aren’t over for them until they win the trophy. He stated:

“Been almost 16 hours but still hurts like it did last night. Sometimes giving your everything isn’t enough. We fell short of our ultimate goal but every step in this journey has been a testament to our team’s spirit and dedication. To our incredible fans, your unwavering support in our highs and lows means the world to us. This isn’t the end, it’s not over until we win. Jai Hind.”
