While Suresh Raina has retired from professional cricket already, it has not stopped him from being there for his former captain MS Dhoni at the time of need.

The former batsman recently shared a heartwarming moment with his former India and Chennai Super Kings captain. The incident took place after the game between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings on Sunday (April 14).

While MS Dhoni played the entire game without showing any problem in his legs, he was seen limping after the end of the game. And when he had to climb down a few stairs at the stadium in order to board the team bus, Suresh Raina came to his aid. The veteran wicketkeeper-batsman held Suresh Raina’s hand while going down the stairs before boarding the bus.

Update on MS Dhoni:

After the game against Mumbai Indians, CSK bowling coach Eric Simons delivered an update on MS Dhoni’s fitness and admitted that the veteran cricketer might have struggling with some niggles.

“Dhoni is one of the most incredible cricketers I have come across. Just the way he goes about it, calmness at the wicket. We use him as a batting template when we are bowling at the death because he is so good at it. We can test out our theories against him, and we know that we are going to do well,” Simons told the media.

“But the other thing is that everyone else is just more interested in his injuries than he is. He is one of the hardest men that I have ever come across. I don’t even think we know to what extent he may or may not be in pain. He just carries on and does his stuff and he is just an amazing bat.

“I am sure there are some niggles as we know that – as we go in life, we get our niggles. But when he gets to the middle, he ran those two quite quick tonight and he just gets on with it. He has the ability to ignore what it is and do what needs to be done. To me, that’s who he is and that’s the way he goes about it. The public is more concerned about his injuries than he is,” he added.

Meanwhile, MS Dhoni starred with the bat and played a key role in CSK’s win over MI. He faced just four balls and smashed 20 runs with the help of three sixes in a row to help his side finish on 206. The 20-runs turned out to be very crucial in the end as CSK won the game by exactly 20 runs.
